My name is Rebecca Sharplin-Hughes and I am a 20 year old photographer based in Reading; studying for my BA Hons degree in Photography at Southampton Solent University, where I am currently undertaking her final year.
I have a solid interest in landscape and still life imagery and love to produce work that plays strongly on the aesthetics, while portraying contrasting allegorical messages behind the work.
I enjoy experimenting with unusual types of film; in particular infrared film and am fascinated with the military’s affiliation with this form of media. The Guardian Online reviewed one of my recent landscape series “Greenham Common” that was shot on infrared film.
Alongside my degree studies I have worked with clients on photography and design freelance projects, these clients include Southampton City Council, Southampton Friends and Family Group, NHS, Hampshire Libraries and Sodexo.
